Originally from Brazil, I came to the USA to work as a scientist in 2005, and Boston has been my home since then. Here, I have had the amazing experience of working at renowned institutions such as MIT. My research endeavors cover the most diverse topics, from cancer and its treatments to how the body fights infections and excessive inflammation.
Always eager to help classmates with their own academic struggles when I was a young student myself, I knew early on that I would want to develop teaching skills in parallel with my BS degree. As a result, I pursued and received a second undergraduate degree in teaching. I strongly believe that this made me an even more dedicated and attentive mentor.

Besides my enthusiasm for all things science and languages, I'm passionate about cooking international food and bread-baking. I'm also a big fan of photography, travel, and, of course, my dog Hugo (who may pop up on the screen any time during classes!).
